Higher Learning Commission Accreditation Review of Indiana University Bloomington

Provost Lauren RobelDear Colleagues,

As Indiana University prepares for the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) reaffirmation visit on September 25-26 2017, we are committed to include the IUB community in the process—faculty, staff, students, and the local community.  The preparation is slightly different than in the past as it is designed to document campus-wide improvements with a focus on teaching and learning versus counting resources, FTE, research activity, etc.

Key to success in Open Pathway 10thyear is the submission of two documents—the Assurance Argument and the Quality Initiative (QI) report.  The Assurance Argument addresses five criteria for accreditation, while the Quality Initiative (QI) report focuses on the Interactive Graduation Planning System (iGPS). Over the next year, we will be reaching out to faculty, staff and students to participate in focus groups, town hall meetings, and various committees to help us gather artifacts and documents that address the five criteria in the assurance argument and document the progress made by students using iGPS.

Please take time to review this site and become familiar with the HLC accreditation process.  If you have any questions, please contact Dennis Groth, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, at
